Deset let existence časopisu E+M Ekonomie a Management

The article sums up the background of the establishment and development of the E+M Economics and Management journal. The journal started up as a collective project between six regional faculties with economic specialization in 1998. The Faculty of Economics of the Technical University of Liberec coordinated the project. Other participants were: Faculty of Economics and Administration, University of Pardubice; Faculty of Management and Economics in Zlín, Brno University of Technology (today the Tomas Bata University in Zlín); Faculty of Management and Information Technology, University of Education in Hradec Králové (today the Faculty of Informatics and Management, University of Hradec Králové); Faculty of Economics, University of West Bohemia in Pilsen and the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences, Jan Evangelista Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem. In 2001 the publishing team was extended to include the Faculty of Management in Jindřichův Hradec, University of Economics in Prague. However, this faculty terminated its participation after one year. Further enlargement of the publishing body occurred in 2003 when it was joined by the first foreign faculty - the Faculty of Economics, Technical University of Košice (Slovakia). In 2005 the School of Business Administration based in Karviná of the Silesian University in Opava enlarged the team. In 2006 the number of universities participating in the journal´s publication increased to its present state of nine faculties. This year the publishing team was further extended by a second faculty from Slovakia - the Faculty of Economics of the Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica. The journal form has gone through significant changes during the past ten years. The character of the journal, initially for doctoral students and young researchers, has changed into a respected scientific journal publishing results of research projects not only from the Czech Republic but also from abroad. Evidence of the journal´s quality is the fact that it has passed a demanding evaluation process conducted by international institutions. Due to this evaluation the journal has been indexed into prestigious bibliographic databases.
