The introductory part of the paper characterises the present situation in the textile industry. In regards to textile goods it shows changes in consumer behaviour. Based on the analysis of competition it further discusses the possibilities of competitive advantage definition.
The final part of the paper deals with problems of the entry of the Czech Republic to the European Union. It defines opportunities and threats addressed to a Czech company.
