Abstrakt: Concepts of Tourism
This article introduce the concept of tourism and outline its role in offering way of thinking about tourism. It consider the difficulties involved in attempting to define tourism and provide some ideas as to how definitions are evolving. It highlight the fact that all elements of the tourism system are interlinked, despide the fact that they are artificially isolated for teaching and learning purposes. The article identifies the special factors within tourism which distinguish its analysis, in economic terms, from other activities. The artical identify some of the economic issues that are inherent both in the subject area and in the study of tourism.
