Municipal Refuse Collecting System Optimization on the Case of Concrete Company The use of exact methods in logistics, management and marketing now is not a privilege of specialists in mathematics and statistics only. Today`s manager should know except knowledge in economics theory, enterprise theory, marketing and management, the basic exact mathematics and management science methods, and should be able to apply them. The power of exact methods grows in connection with possibility of the use of powerful personal computers at the same time. It is possible to solve seemingly complicated problems by creative application even simplest quantitative methods, or to find out approaches not common in routine through restricted capabilities of smaller firms. In the presented contribution we want to show that that we can reach an effective solution of some practical problems also by means of a quite simple method. We can apply these procedures even without a deep and detailed knowledge of the operations research theory. A case of optimization of the municipal refuse collecting system is presented here by the help of an application of several well-known simple heuristics. Significant cost savings are documented on an example of an individual company obtained by suitable application of simple algorithms.
